2010 County RIde

It’s June in Maine and that means ATV riding is in full swing. ATV Maine Clubs.com recently returned from the annual June ride to the county hosted by Terry and Lianne James. What a great time had by all. A big thank you to them for allowing us to tag along. This ride also coincides with what had become an annual ride hosted by Al Langley. (Former regional VP for ATV of Maine.) With the passing of Al the James felt that tradition should be carried on. Thus the Second Annual Al Langley ride was held, with various collections made throughout the fours days of activities. Those proceeds to go to the Al Langley Memorial Scholarship Fund, this administered by ATV of Maine with Bill Lombard in charge. Riding out of the St Agatha area and being host by the fine folks at the Long Lake Motor Lodge we again found the trails in this region of Maine to die for, although a bit dusty. The previous dust mentioned may be an understatement. Having totaled about 280 miles we all agreed that the dust did in fact get thicker after 4 days of riding. Oh well, get over it I say.  We also got a pleasant surprise from a local club. The Madawaska ATV Club invited us to attend their landowner’s recon ignition dinner. A big thank you to club president Mike Michaud and club/ATV of Maine VP Real Deschaine.

All though the trip the chicken took to get to from the kitchen to the table was at times in question; a great time was indeed had by all with great food and trail riding stories to boot.

The following photo doesn’t do the dust justice. Believe me it was thick as pea-soup in places. Also we see a certain ATV of Maine VP maybe parking illegally. You decide.
